Parking

Ample parking has been arranged in Jefferson City for the more than 50,000 people expected to join in the Salute to America 4th of July celebration.

As you make your way to the event, please keep in mind the following street closures:

  • High Street: from Monroe Street to Broadway

  • Capitol Avenue: from Main Street to Monroe Street

  • Madison Street: from High Street to State Street

  • Broadway: from Main Street to High Street

For drivers coming to the festival from the east, the State East Parking Garage off State Street at Monroe Street is your best bet.

If you are arriving from the west, try the West State Parking Garage (House of Representatives) off of Main Street (on the left just before you get to the Capitol).

In addition to these lots, all state and city lots are also available for parking, as well as, off-street parking on East McCarty Street, Capitol Avenue (east of Monroe Street), East Miller Street and Madison or Monroe from the Expressway to High Street.

Two special handicapped lots have been designated for access to the festival district. The first is off of Monroe Street in Commercial Alley, an east-west alley between High Street and Capitol Avenue located next to the News Tribune building. The second lot is the parking lot adjacent to St. Peter’s Selinger Center, off of Main Street. Only vehicles with proper handicapped identification will be allowed to park in the specially designated handicapped lots for this event.

Watch for parking information on highway department signage and directional parking signs for more information.
