Salute is proud  to announce world-renowned sand sculptor Dan Belcher will be carving on July 4th in a new themed area called the SandBlock as part of the continued celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the Missouri State Penitentiary. You'll be able to see Dan at work, sign up for a tour and get your photo taken 'behind bars'. The SandBlock will be located at the corner of Madison and High.

NOTE: For Prison Tours today, tickets must be purchased in advance from the Convention and Visitor's Bureau's tent on Madison Street. Transportation to the prison will be provided. Tours at 2, 3:30 & 4:30 and will sell out early!

Titles: 13 time World Champion, including an unprecedented 3 time solo World Champion.

Bio: Dan appeared on the Travel Channel’s Sand Blasters: The Extreme Sand Sculpting Championship in 2006. Since his first professional sand project in 1990, Dan has worked with and competed against most of the top sculptors in the profession, and has created numerous projects throughout the world, including Italy, Japan, Australia, and the U.A.E.

Dan has a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University. In addition to his busy sand schedule, Dan is also an Urban Designer/ Illustrator in his hometown of St. Louis.
