Live Eagle Show

July 4th, 3, 5 and 7:00 pm

Capitol Main Stage

Birds of prey and America’s symbol, the bald eagle, will join Jefferson City’s “Salute to America” celebration as the World Bird Sanctuary brings a patriotic and educational program to the Capitol Main Stage on July 4, 2010.  Show times are tentatively set for 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

“This program features our country’s symbol – the bald eagle,” said Walt Crawford, Director of the World Bird Sanctuary, based in St. Louis.  “We salute our country, our veterans and the eagle as a living emblem of the beauty and vitality of Missouri’s natural resources.”

The World Bird Sanctuary will bring several species of birds for the July 4 audience to see up close and in flight.

“This program will be inspirational and informative,” said Gilbert Cole, Missouri American Water Operations Superintendent.  “All living things depend on water and this program highlights the importance of good stewardship of our rivers and our watersheds.”

Missouri American Water has worked with the World Bird Sanctuary on watershed education programs across the state.
