High Street Happy Hour

Kick-off your independence with special offers from all your favorite downtown bars and restaurants. Look for lots of café seating perfect for people watching and great entertainment throughout.

 

The LandShark Lager beer garden will also be open with live music on the Riley Toyota Scion stage.

Starlight Memories Band

In March 2011, four of Central Missouri’s seasoned musicians and entertainers came together to form the Starlight Memories Band. This band specializes in playing Pop/Rock & Roll Oldies from the 50’s 60’s & 70’s. The band is unique, not only playing the “standard oldies,” but also playing the “one-hit wonders & almost forgotten oldies.” The band captures the atmosphere & sounds of the era and all members provide vocals. The current members include: “Hitman” Mike Eveler, Drums & Leader, Tom Whittle, Lead Guitar & Keyboard, Randy Hill, Keyboard &

Rhythm Guitar and Jay Finley, Bass Guitar. The group wants to preserve and perform the “best music of all-time.” The band performs primarily for private functions, including, but not limited to: Class Reunions, Parties, Anniversaries, Private Clubs, Community Celebrations, Picnics, New Year’s Eve, etc.

CenturyLink Let Freedom Ring Parade

One of the highlights of every 4th of July Celebration is our Salute to America Parade that runs through downtown Jefferson City.  The hometown flavor of our parade has always made it unique to this community and great fun for the young and young at heart. Century Link, the parade’s sponsor, is happy to continue the contest for Best of Parade. There will be prizes and certificates awarded in four categories and the winners announced from the Main Stage the evening of the 4th.

Parade route: From East Miller to north on Monroe to west on High to south on Jefferson to east on East Miller. Viewing stand on the Madison stage at High & Madison.

Watch as 4-6 year old boys and girls compete for the honor of representing the Salute to America Festival next year. Parents can register their children onsite, space permitting.

Hey! Are you a Wii rock star? Then you need to enter the Best Buy Contest. This event will pit you against other players chosen at random. The winners of each leg advances to the next level until you ultimately battle for the title and win a great prize courtesy of Best Buy.

Elvis Karaoke Contest

Think you've got what it takes to be "King"?  Get out your jumpsuit and pomade the hair and prepare to do your best Elvis imitation. A variety of songs will be available from which to choose and performances will last 2-3 minutes. The winner will be judged by audience enthusiasm so be sure to bring your own fan club!

The Jefferson City Dance Academy

Jefferson City Dance Academy is the oldest continuously operating studio in Jefferson City under the same management. Our studio offers training in classical ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical/modern and hip hop/funk.

Missouri African American Repertory

Missouri African American Repertory Theatre (MOAART) was founded in March 2004 by Regina Blanchard Divine of Jefferson City, MO.  The purpose to to provide Jefferson City residents an opportunity to showcase their talents through small theatrical productions such as Ain't Got Time To Die, The Amen Corner, Christmas Comes to Detroit Louie and collaborating with Scene One Black Box Theatre to present A Raisin in the Sun.  Divine Power Productions is a division of MOAART founded in 2008 to showcase musical talents through singing, poetry and dance. www.geocities.com/moaartjc

Stained Glass Theater

Stained Glass Theater is a full-time, nonprofit Christian theater which has been committed to, "Serving Christ Through the Arts" for the past 12 years. Their actors and support personnel are selfless volunteers who give of themselves in ministry to the body of Christ and the community at large. They are located at 830 East High Street in downtown Jefferson City.

The Swingin' Bebops

The Swinging Bebops are a dynamic duo from Holden, Missouri. Johnny Daytona on guitar and harmonica and Mary Rich on drums. A combination of rockabilly and swing, they perform 50's, 60's, and classic country  in a style all their own. The Swingin' Bebops will have you on your feet swingin' to their beat.

Capital Ritz Dance Divas

The Capital Ritz Divas are a group of women who got together and formed a team because they enjoy dancing and performing approximately 3 years and specialize in vintage dancing styles.  The group will be dancing four routines including The Shim Sham, a group dance taken from a vaudeville tap routine from the 1940's; Puttin' on the Ritz choreographed to the popular song by Taco; The Charleston and the Chair Dance, a patriotic 4th of July dance done with no footwork but nevertheless one the most difficult "dances" they perform.

WindyRidge Bluegrass Band

WindyRidge Bluegrass Band consist of 5 members.  Dennis Strothcamp sings lead vocals and plays mandolin, Darrol Roskowske plays guitar, Chris Valley plays bass and sings harmony, JR Walther plays banjo and Donna Rehagen plays fiddle and sings.  Dennis, Darrol and Chris have been playing together for several years and JR and Donna just joined them about a year ago.  The band is named after Darrol's farm in St. James, MO. Project Hysteria

Project Hysteria has been rockin' the Jefferson City area for the past 3 years. The band is made up of four local teens.  Austin Perkins - Lead Guitar and Vocal,  Thomas Collins - Bass Guitar,  Ethan Browner - Rhythm Guitar,  Blaine Jarrett - Drums.  Their raw powered high energy will leave all wanting more ! They play a full mix of Rock, Country and Blues! Project Hysteria
